The Bolivian in-house legal community is continuing to evolve in response to a business environment that calls for greater resilience, adaptability and strategic thinking. The 2026 edition of the Legal 500 GC Powerlist: Bolivia recognises legal leaders who are helping their organisations navigate regulatory complexity, operational uncertainty and the pace of technological change.
One of the key themes to emerge from this year’s research was the increasing importance of legal resilience. For many in-house teams, the role of the legal function within their organisations extends well beyond compliance: it also involves helping organisations maintain continuity, anticipate risks and make well-informed decisions as circumstances evolve. As José Luis Bejarano Frías, national legal manager at Embotelladoras Bolivianas Unidas (EMBOL), among this year’s Powerlist members, notes, legal resilience involves learning from previous disruptions, anticipating legal and operational risks, reinforcing governance and supporting business continuity while upholding ethical standards.
This more strategic approach is closely linked to the transformation of the legal function itself. Many of this year’s Bolivian Powerlist members describe legal teams that have embraced greater digitalisation, applying technology to areas including contract management, due diligence, compliance, document management and regulatory monitoring. For Hugo Andrés Hinojosa Peláez, institutional affairs manager at FEXPOCRUZ, the challenge is not simply adopting new tools, but using them to improve the efficiency of legal departments while maintaining confidentiality, professional responsibility and sound judgement.
AI is therefore becoming part of a wider discussion about the future of the legal profession in Bolivia. The responses gathered for this year’s Powerlist indicate that Bolivian legal teams are increasingly exploring AI and automation, while remaining mindful of the need for human oversight, data protection and appropriate governance. Verónica Elizabeth Schütt Eid, legal and regulatory compliance manager at IMCRUZ / Inchcape describes this development as the evolution of Legal into a “technology-enabled, value-driven function”, with digital tools already delivering measurable gains in efficiency.
At the same time, compliance and governance continue to be key priorities. Across sectors, legal teams are strengthening internal controls, fostering stronger compliance cultures and working more closely with business leadership to identify and address risks before they develop into larger issues. The focus is increasingly on prevention, practical solutions and closer collaboration across the organisation.
What emerges from this year’s research is a legal community that is becoming increasingly proactive and more closely integrated with the wider business.
We would like to thank and congratulate the 2026 cohort for sharing their experiences and perspectives throughout the research process. It has been a privilege to learn from their work and to showcase the valuable contribution of Bolivia’s in-house legal community.
Carmen Godoy Martin, Research Editor: GC Powerlist Bolivia 2026
The Legal 500 GC Powerlist: Italy 2026 brought together some of the country’s most distinguished general counsel and senior in-house legal professionals for an evening of celebration, recognition and networking in Milan.
Held on 24 September 2026 at the Organics SkyGarden Rooftop at Hyatt Centric Milan Centrale, the event provided a fitting setting in which to recognise the outstanding achievements of the lawyers featured in this year’s GC Powerlist: Italy.
The evening celebrated an exceptional and diverse group of in-house leaders representing companies across a broad range of sectors, including financial services, energy and utilities, technology, healthcare, consumer products, luxury, manufacturing, transport and infrastructure, media and professional services. This breadth reflects both the diversity of Italy’s corporate landscape and the increasingly important role played by legal departments in organisations across the economy.
Guests had the opportunity to connect with fellow members of Italy’s in-house legal community, exchange perspectives and celebrate the achievements of this year’s Powerlisters. The strong representation of senior legal professionals from across sectors also reinforced the value of the GC Powerlist as a platform for building relationships and encouraging dialogue within the Italian in-house community.
This year’s research highlighted the continued evolution of the general counsel role. Against a backdrop of increasing regulatory complexity, geopolitical uncertainty, technological innovation and changing business priorities, in-house lawyers are being called upon to contribute well beyond traditional legal advisory work. Artificial intelligence and digital transformation are also reshaping legal departments, creating opportunities for greater efficiency while introducing new questions around governance, implementation and risk.
Throughout the evening, there was a clear sense of the strategic importance that legal teams now hold within their organisations. The professionals recognised in the 2026 Powerlist demonstrate how modern in-house counsel combine technical expertise with commercial awareness, leadership and an ability to anticipate and respond to rapidly evolving business challenges.
The reception also provided an important opportunity to recognise the teams behind these achievements. As highlighted throughout the research for this year’s publication, many of Italy’s leading general counsel place collaboration, talent development and knowledge-sharing at the centre of building effective legal functions.
The Legal 500 would like to congratulate everyone recognised in the GC Powerlist: Italy 2026 and thank all those who contributed to the research and joined us in Milan for a memorable evening.
