Career Biography

I am a corporate lawyer with over 20 years of experience advising companies in highly regulated and complex environments, with a strong focus on the energy sector. Throughout my career, I have led legal teams in high-impact organisations, combining legal expertise with a strategic business mindset to manage risk, resolve disputes, and support critical business decisions.

My academic background in International Business Law, Private International Law, and International Relations enables me to approach legal challenges from a global and multidisciplinary perspective. I previously served for nearly a decade as General Legal Counsel of Bolivia’s leading private electricity company. I currently act as Legal Manager at Shell Bolivia Corporation and provide legal support across Venezuela and Peru, advising on complex cross-border matters, high-stakes disputes, and regulatory challenges in dynamic environments.

My role involves managing sensitive legal matters, including international arbitration, regulatory disputes, and high-exposure litigation, as well as supporting strategic negotiations with key stakeholders, including government entities. I focus on delivering pragmatic, commercially aligned solutions that protect business value while navigating legal and reputational risks.

A central pillar of my career has been a strong commitment to ethics and integrity. I have led Ethics and Compliance programs aimed at embedding robust governance frameworks and fostering a culture of transparency and accountability. My experience includes leading internal investigations, managing audits, and implementing risk mitigation strategies in complex operational environments.
