Career Biography

Genaro Antonio Laredo Garnica is a distinguished corporate legal strategist, social entrepreneur, and executive with over 15 years of experience leading corporate governance, legal risk management, and international expansion across Latin America. Recognised for three consecutive years in The Legal 500 GC Powerlist (Bolivia 2023, 2024, and 2025), Genaro has established himself as a leading in-house counsel specialising in triple impact models, ESG integration, and circular economy regulations.

Genaro holds a law degree from Universidad Católica Boliviana, validated within the European Union, a master’s degree in business law from the University of Barcelona, and a diploma in business organisation management. His early career in Europe involved managing private family investment funds and executing cross-border corporate legal transactions at Pont Mestres Asesores Corporativos in Spain. Upon returning to Latin America, he leveraged this international experience to structure robust corporate governance frameworks for high-growth enterprises and family businesses.

As co-founder and chief corporate affairs officer at Group Mamut — a pioneering transboundary venture transforming urban waste into sustainable construction materials — Genaro has been instrumental in designing the corporate, regulatory, and legal infrastructure driving the company’s regional scaling. His strategic leadership encompasses managing complex legal frameworks for cross-border operations, including soft-landing processes in Paraguay and Mexico, navigating customs compliance, and negotiating international supply agreements.

In the capital structuring arena, Genaro pioneered the structuring of impact investment rounds, venture debt, and blended finance models. He managed legal negotiations with global acceleration programmes and investment funds, including Agora Partnerships, Latitud R, and Circulate Capital. Furthermore, he spearheaded the legal strategy for proprietary technology patents (‘Hecha en Bolivia’) and regional trade mark portfolios, shielding critical IP assets while expanding across Latin America.

Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Genaro is a trusted adviser in corporate governance for family-owned enterprises, drafting family protocols to ensure generational continuity, conflict resolution, and institutional stability. He has also served as an expert consultant in capacity-building programmes for SMEs entering the securities market.

Genaro actively shapes the regional business ecosystem through leadership roles in key chambers and civil organisations. He served as a founding director in the historic merger of the Chamber of Industry and Chamber of Commerce of Cochabamba, holds a board seat at the Chamber of Industry (CIC), and sits as an assembly member in water and sanitation foundations.
