In times of crisis, the management of legal aspects presents the additional challenge of supporting the different business areas, particularly the commercial area, in defining differentiating products or services according to the needs of clients within the applicable legal framework.
What measures has your company taken to embed sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of the general counsel contribute to driving and ensuring sustainable practices within the company?
Caracol S.A., as part of the PRISA group, is strongly committed to sustainability, integrating this and ESG criteria into the company’s strategy. Thus, the role of the general counsel is to support the company’s management in raising awareness across the different areas of the company about the importance of fulfilling this commitment and applying these criteria, in line with the goals of the Sustainability Plan.
What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?
Artificial intelligence is having a significant impact on the facilitation of legal and contractual processes, and in this area the legal department plays a fundamental role as validator of the information and criteria used. These technological developments should be understood as work tools to provide a more efficient service without compromising the quality of service and attention.
