Can you tell us about your team?

The Made legal team has grown significantly in the past year, in line with the growth of Made’s business. During that time, our legal team played a crucial role in delivering projects that were essential to ensuring that Made is ideally placed to deliver against its strategic goals in 2022.

Focusing on the legal department, our team is broadly split in to two sub-teams, the corporate and governance team, and the commercial team.

The corporate and governance team supports the business with a wide range of corporate and governance matters, most notably to date being Made’s IPO which was completed in June 2021. Additionally, the team was responsible for the design and implementation of Made’s first all-employee share scheme, Made x everyone, launched shortly prior to our IPO.

Since the IPO, this sub-team has played an essential role in ensuring that Made maintains appropriate governance standards for a company listed on the main market of the LSE. Legal has also been responsible for the production of Made’s first annual report and organisation of Made’s first annual general meeting as a listed company.

Regarding the commercial team, it provides essential support to the business in areas such as employment, logistics, IP, tech and data privacy. The most recent key achievements for this team included the signing of a new warehouse lease, the expansion of Made’s homeware offering, the successful defence of numerous IP challenges and onboarding of a number of new logistics providers, to help meet Made’s significant additional customer demand.

As an active party in Made’s business strategy, our legal team has focused on four pillars. First, choice, expanding our product range centred on our homewares offering. Second, reach, building our brand awareness, particularly across continental Europe. Third, experience, enhancing our customers’ experience. And fourth, sustainability, embedding sustainable practices into every aspect of our operations.
