Paolo Fabiani currently serves as general counsel for Technogym, the manufacturer of fitness equipment based in Cesena. He initially joined the company as a corporate lawyer and after one year was promoted to the head of legal position, and then in 2010 appointed to the general counsel role. As general counsel Fabiani regularly advises the president, CEO and other executives of the firm on legal matters, and is responsible for the internal structure of the legal function and the company’s international network of legal and corporate advisers. He is the key lawyer and adviser on all major business transactions including advising on legal aspects of the company’s financing, business structures and legal entities, including foreign companies, branches and joint ventures and participates in the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures and programmes. Fabiani supervises, coordinates and ensures regulatory and legal compliance with laws and regulations including the “Modello 231-Internal Code of Conduct” as well as those related to privacy and health and safety for workers. He manages the legal activities in relation to the company’s listing on the stock exchange, negotiates and manages joint-ventures, litigations and disputes, real estate contracts, IP and licensing agreements as well as advising the HR department on all employment legal matters. Fabiani takes pride in his involvement at the heart of the business, saying that he has ‘always set my work and that of my team with a specific focus on business and on the innovation of legal services in favour of the company’.
