Ignacio is a highly accomplished lawyer with a strong background in financial market law. He graduated with distinction from the Bolivian Catholic University and further pursued his academic journey by obtaining a master’s degree in financial Market Law from the Simón Bolivar Andean University.

Currently, Ignacio holds the position of Manager of Legal Affairs for the Eastern Region at Banco Nacional de Bolivia SA. Throughout his career, he has held various executive roles within the organisation with over 16 years of specialisation in banking and the capital market. Ignacio’s expertise encompasses financial regulation, capital markets regulation, commercial and corporate law, litigation, as well as tax law.

Ignacio played an essential role as a lead counsellor in various financial transactions, providing legal guidance and strategic advice in structuring complex deals, acquisitions, as well as the incorporation of new businesses both domestically and in foreign jurisdictions. His extensive experience in the banking sector has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of financial markets, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Ignacio has guided the conceptualisation, developing, and launching of innovative financial products and services guiding innovation within the regulatory environment and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

Throughout his career, Ignacio has demonstrated his expertise in managing and resolving legal matters related to the financial industry. This includes advising on investment banking projects, participating in due diligence processes, and launching companies into the capital market. He has also been appointed as trustee to supervise and control the Board of Directors and the activities of the Depository Trust and Clearing of Bolivia, for five years. This experience provided him with valuable insights into the operational aspects of financial institutions and capital markets.

Furthermore, Ignacio has been actively involved in litigation proceedings, specialising in financial disputes and commercial litigation, both domestically and internationally. In addition to his expertise in financial law and transactions, he has gained extensive experience in conflict resolution and negotiation, consistently delivering results.

In the academic realm, Ignacio has shared his knowledge and experience by teaching postgraduate classes in Banking and capital market Law at prestigious universities in Bolivia. He has also been invited as a specialist speaker in numerous courses organised by the Bolivian Association of Securities Agents – ABAV. Ignacio has established himself as a respected and sought-after legal professional in the field of financial market law, making significant contributions to the sector.
