Ignacio Daniel Arce Jofre is a highly accomplished lawyer with a strong background in financial market law. He graduated with distinction from the Bolivian Catholic University, and further pursued his academic journey by obtaining a master’s degree in financial market law from the Simón Bolivar Andean University.

Currently, Ignacio holds the position of manager of legal affairs for the Eastern region at Banco Nacional de Bolivia. Throughout his career, he has held various executive roles within the organisation, providing expert guidance and advice to all companies within the BNB financial group. Ignacio’s expertise encompasses financial regulation, capital markets regulation, commercial and corporate law, litigation, as well as tax law.

Ignacio played an essential role as a lead counsellor in various financial transactions, providing legal guidance and strategic advice in structuring complex deals. He has been actively involved in corporate transactions, including acquisitions, as well as the incorporation of new businesses, such as the establishment of the Holding Company of Grupo Financiero BNB and the reorganisation of group companies under its common control. He has provided strategic guidance on the acquisition of BNB Valores Perú and managed the formation of BNB Leasing as a new company within BNB financial group. His extensive experience in the banking sector has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of financial markets, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Ignacio has guided the conceptualisation, developing, and launching of innovative financial products and services guiding innovation within the regulatory environment and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

His involvement in the capital market extends to advising on debt and equity issuances using different instruments, with a cumulative value exceeding $1.5bn. Additionally, he has provided valuable assistance in the structuring of investment funds and the design of securitisation projects. Throughout his career, Ignacio has demonstrated his expertise in managing and resolving legal matters related to the financial industry. This includes advising on investment banking projects, participating in due diligence processes, and preparing companies for the capital market.

He has also been appointed as Syndic (trustee) to supervise and control the board of directors and the activities of the depository trust and clearing of Bolivia, for five years. This experience provided him with valuable insights into the operational aspects of financial institutions and deepened his knowledge of clearing and settlement systems. He is currently serving as an alternate syndic (trustee) of the Broker Agent BNB Valores Agencia de Bolsa.

Furthermore, Ignacio has been actively involved in litigation proceedings, specialising in financial disputes and commercial litigation. In addition to his expertise in financial law and transactions, he has gained extensive experience in conflict resolution and negotiation, consistently delivering high end service.
