According to Matthew Previn of BuckleySandler, Jill Centella has all the qualities required to make a great litigator: ‘she is a tremendous tactician and has superb judgment. She knows when to fight and when to settle. She knows when to be aggressive and when to be conciliatory. I think it is her judgment that has earned her the respect both of the bankers she supports and senior lawyers within and outside the bank’. Centella has been with the bank since 1997, and progressed through its ranks at relatively high speed. Her global litigation co-head recently announced his departure, and she has been entrusted to continue as sole litigation head, a further testament to her abilities. Previn adds that Centella has ‘recruited tremendously talented lawyers who value her leadership, and by all accounts, she handles this geographically diverse group with great skill’.
