Brenneman has already developed a strong Latin America practice and has advised on capital markets offerings and transactions of some of Mexico’s leading companies, including Corporación GEO, Grupo Posadas, Desarrolladora Homex, IEnova, and Office Depot de Mexico. Brenneman’s recent work in Mexico includes advising on the largest equity offering in Latin America during 2016, when he acted as counsel to the initial purchasers in a $1.45bn follow-on offering by Infraestructura Energética Nova (IEnova). In 2014, he participated in advising the initial purchasers in the $367 million global follow-on equity offering by Macquarie Mexican REIT (the second largest IPO in Mexico), and as counsel to Fintech Investments in negotiating its joint venture with Seadrill to form SeaMex, a vehicle to acquire, operate and manage jack-up drilling rigs on behalf of Pemex through long-term charter agreements. In other work for long-term client Fintech he advised on the closure of transactions related to the comprehensive settlement of the contested restructuring of Vitro, including the purchase and exchange of over $750m of the company’s debt, the acquisition of a significant equity interest in one of its subsidiaries and the negotiation of the associated secured, structured financing arrangements.
