Career Biography

Ms. Gormley is Group General Counsel of DNO ASA. DNO ASA is a Norwegian oil and gas operator active in the Middle East, the North Sea and West Africa. Founded in 1971, DNO is Norway’s oldest oil company and the first to list on the Oslo Stock Exchange in 1981. The Company holds stakes in onshore and offshore licenses at various stages of exploration, development and production in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, Norway, the United Kingdom, Côte d’Ivoire and Yemen.

Ms. Gormley specialises in petroleum law, contracts in the petroleum industry, good governance and new business development/M&A in the petroleum industry. Ms. Gormley has more than twenty years of experience in providing legal advice and negotiation support to companies, governments/public authorities and organisations engaged in the petroleum industry in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe.

She is a former partner in the Norwegian law firm Arntzen de Besche (now: Arntzen Grette). She holds a Master’s degree in law from the University of Oslo and the Common Professional Examination in law from London Metropolitan University.
