Career Biography

Louise Waldek is chief legal officer and company secretary of IMI plc, the FTSE 100 global engineering group. She is a member of the Executive Committee and chairs IMI’s Ethics & Compliance Committee, leading the Group’s global legal, compliance and ethics agenda and a team of around 30 legal, compliance and contracts professionals.

In this role, Louise drives functional excellence and future readiness by embedding legal, governance and ethical discipline into business processes and decision-making, supporting sustainable, profitable growth, long-term value creation and enhancing organisational resilience. Alongside her core legal and governance responsibilities, she previously held executive responsibility for sustainability and group risk management.

Before joining IMI in 2021, Louise was general counsel and company secretary at Victrex plc, and has held senior legal roles at Speedy Hire plc and United Utilities Group plc. She trained and qualified as a corporate lawyer at DLA Piper. Louise is passionate about social mobility and coleads an industry group focused on widening access to, and progression within, the legal profession.
