<strong> Career Biography </strong> 

Ed is Head of Legal at ERIKS Industrial Services UK & Ireland (a Rubix Company), a specialist industrial components and engineering services provider.  Ed has been at the company for just over 18 months.  During this time, he played a key role in the acquisition of the ERIKS UK & Ireland business by Rubix Group during 2025, which included securing clearance from the Competition & Markets Authority.  In addition to his day-to-day role providing commercial legal support across the business, Ed is currently focussed on post-acquisition workstreams as the ERIKS business moves to become fully integrated into the wider Rubix Group. 

Prior to joining ERIKS, Ed spent eight years at Manchester United FC as Head of Intellectual Property and Legal Governance.  Ed’s role involved managing the club’s global trademark portfolio, setting and implementing the strategy for global anti-counterfeiting and brand protection, and acting as the club’s statutory data protection officer.  He also handled several major disputes before the High Court and under the LCIA rules and led the club’s legal compliance programme. 

Before joining Man Utd, Ed was Head of Legal at a global software and publishing company based in London. 

Ed began his career at Bird & Bird, focusing primarily on intellectual property disputes in the engineering, computing and electronics sectors.  He then moved to Baker McKenzie where he developed a broader commercial and IP practice focussed on global technology and engineering clients and well-known major brands.  He moved in-house from private practice in 2012 and relocated from London to the North-West in 2016.
