Oman LNG LLC is the name for the joint venture embarked upon in 1994 between the government of Oman and other stakeholders to establish and maintain liquefied natural gas (LNG) operations in the country. Now completed, the plant is dealing with a rapid expansion in Oman’s requirements for natural gas, and the corporate team at Oman LNG is concerned with floating a series of tenders aimed at the successful maintenance and expansion of LNG operations in the country. The legal function at Oman LNG is particularly important for due diligence of prospective business partners, given the large amount of contracts the company engages in. Almost ten per cent of Oman’s government revenues are generated by LNG production, and given that the gas sector is predicted to become of even greater prominence to Oman, Oman LNG is a company whose importance is likely to grow in the future.
