Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?

The digitisation of our drafting, execution (including electronic signature) and contract storage processes is something made not only the legal team members’ life easier, but also, our business partners are happy and grateful with the way this process improved their satisfaction with the service level received by the team. By selecting the right tools for this process to be implemented, we passed from a completely manual process to a process which everyday requires less interaction between stakeholders, is faster, more efficient and, most importantly, environmentally friendly – we are no longer printing copies of contracts, saving thousands of dollars a year in paper sheets, and reducing physical space used to store the above mentioned legal documents.

What are some of the main trends impacting the industry sector you work in in Mexico?

The use of AI is something that we have started to see more often, and it is our job to learn and fully understand how can we take advantage of this new technology to be better, more efficient and competitive, while, at the same time, make sure that every work product that comes out as a result of the use of AI is in compliance with local laws, regulations and internal policies.

How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment?

Diversity and Inclusion is one of our top priorities, which is why over the last couple of years, we have been training and educating ourselves on such matters with fully dedicated organisations to these topics. We have also been working together with different non-profit organisations to create and promote work opportunities within the legal department for people with disabilities. These opportunities are already public, and we are currently working with a non-profit organisation in the recruitment process for us to be able to bring to life this opportunity.
