Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?

We recently implemented a Power of Attorney management tool using IBM technology (IBM Cloud Pack for Business Automation), that allows us to have control over the POAs we issue, ensuring we have accurate and updated information about the legal representatives of the Company.

Other successful project was the implementation of an electronic signature process for contractual documents in compliance with local regulations, that allowed us to navigate during the pandemic period and simplify our current operations.

What is a cause, business-related or otherwise, you are passionate about, and why?

I am passionate about using technology as an instrument to make people’s life easier, provided it is created responsibly and with clear purpose. In particular, the objective of artificial intelligence must be to enhance and extend the human capability and potential, not to replace our intelligence. As part of a technology company, I contribute to make all of us better at our jobs, following trust and transparency principles and protecting the data we receive from our clients.

How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment?

Diversity and inclusion are a top priority for my department. It is well known that organisations with strong diversity and inclusion foundations increase productivity, are more innovate and improve the employee engagement.

Every day, I work to build a culture of conscious inclusion for my team, where people can feel safe to show up as their authentic selves. As a leader, I am a fierce advocate for hearing everybody’s voice, encouraging all team to bring their ideas to the table. Also, I intentionally try to develop relationships with people that are different than me and learn from them.

Main initiatives I have implemented to foster a more inclusive and diverse work environment include constant training to the entire team about the matter; expansion of the search scope in the recruitment process to include people from different backgrounds; and consideration of the D&I policies implemented by a firm as an advantage during a selection process.
