What are the most significant cases, projects, or transactions that you and your legal team have recently been involved in?

Over the last few months, my team and I have been involved in a broad range of high-impact strategic matters, including corporate restructuring projects, global compliance and privacy initiatives, supply chain programs, and complex international commercial transactions supporting a global expansion. We have also played a key role in the transformation of the Legal function through process standardisation, and digitalisation projects, while strengthening governance around AI, and data protection. Across all these initiatives, our objective has been to position Legal as a proactive business partner that enables growth, mitigates risk, and supports the company’s long-term strategic ambitions.

How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

Periods of instability and crisis require legal leaders to move beyond their traditional advisory role and become active participants in business continuity and strategic decision-making. My approach is based on anticipation, pragmatism, and clear communication. My role is to provide sound judgment, maintain perspective, and inspire confidence, ensuring that the organization can navigate uncertainty while remaining compliant, protecting its reputation, and continuing to achieve its strategic objectives.

General counsel often speak of the need to be strategic to reach the pinnacle of the profession. What does being strategic mean to you?

Being strategic to me means operating as a fully integrated business partner, actively contributing to project development from the outset and playing a critical role in the decision-making process.

What strategies do you employ to ensure the successful digital transformation of a legal department while maintaining compliance with your country’s data protection laws?

In my experience, the most effective strategy is to embed legal principles, and privacy rules into the transformation journey from the very beginning, ensuring that the relevant compliance is not treated as a final checkpoint but as a design principle. We aim at leveraging technology to increase efficiency and strategic impact, while ensuring that privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and human accountability remain at the core of the legal function.

What do you think are the most important attributes for a modern in-house counsel to possess?

Modern in-house counsels are no longer merely guardians of legal risk; they are a strategic advisers, business enablers, and trusted partners, combining deep technical expertise with strong communication skills, inspiring confidence and providing reassurance in complex situations, while adapting quickly to change and thriving in fast-paced, evolving environments.
