What are the most significant cases, projects, or transactions that you and your legal team have recently been involved in?

Over the past year, we have been involved in a broad range of commercial and compliance-related matters. Key areas of focus have included the review and negotiation of strategic commercial agreements, the management of data protection issues, and the implementation and enhancement of internal governance and compliance procedures. We have also supported the business in a number of organisational projects, including the review of contractual frameworks, risk assessments, delegation of authority structures, and procurement-related processes. In addition, we have provided ongoing legal support on regulatory compliance and the development of internal policies designed to strengthen operational controls and corporate governance.

How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

My approach is to focus on clear governance and grounded decision-making. During periods of instability, the legal team works closely with management to identify key risks, assess contractual and regulatory implications, and ensure compliance while supporting business continuity. We prioritise critical issues, maintain open communication with stakeholders, and provide practical, risk-based advice that enables the organisation to respond quickly without compromising legal or ethical standards.

General counsel often speak of the need to be strategic to reach the pinnacle of the profession. What does being strategic mean to you?

To me, being strategic means understanding the business objectives, anticipating legal and regulatory risks, and providing practical solutions that enable growth. It is about acting as a trusted business partner, not just managing legal issues, but helping shape informed decisions.

Have you had any experiences during your career as a lawyer that stand out as particularly unique or interesting?

Among many experiences in my legal career, one of the most unique was being a member of the Sustainability Committee of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. The Committee brought together leading Italian fashion brands to promote sustainability and drive a shared industry-wide commitment to responsible business practices.
