Simone Bagnariol is general counsel of ASTM, a global player in the infrastructure sector, and the world’s second largest motorway concessionaire. Previously, he was general counsel of Rizzani de Eccher, a leading Italian construction company active in infrastructure and other major projects in more than 30 countries around the world. As general counsel, he provides strategic advice to the board of directors and top management of the group, anticipating issues and assessing risks.   

Simone has been involved in major cross-border transactions. He is specialised in negotiating complex contracts with clients, partners, subcontractors and managing difficult situations. He was also an associate at Gianni, Origoni, Grippo & Partners and Clifford Chance. He holds a law degree from the University of Trieste and a PhD in Commercial and Transport Law from the University of Udine. He has also undertaken other courses and master’s degrees in M&A, arbitration, negotiation techniques and management of difficult transactions.  

Simone continues to collaborate with the faculty of law, chair of commercial law of the University of Udine.
