Etsy is a global online marketplace bringing together sellers and buyers searching for unique and creative goods. Ronan Davy joined the Dublin office of Etsy in 2015 as the first legal hire of the company outside the US. As assistant general counsel of Etsy, Davy established and scaled the non-US legal function and manages and mentors a team across both the US and EMEA regions. He is responsible for commercial contracts and privacy issues on a global basis and serves as a director on the board of all the international group subsidiaries of Etsy. Davy began his in-house legal career in Sysnet Global Solutions, where he worked as a senior legal counsel for two years. In this position he was highly influential on an international level through his work on high-value global consumer contracts on a multi-jurisdictional basis and the reorganisation of the group’s structure after its purchase of Panoptic Security and SaaS Markets. Prior to this, he worked in private practice for nine years in top Irish law firms Matheson and Mason Hayes & Curran. Nominated for his prodigious legal management and skill, Davy is a highly respected in-house lawyer in the Irish market.
