‘Andrea Boyd is senior legal counsel at Mercer. Mercer is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies with over 20,000 employees in 40 different countries. [Boyd] joined Mercer in 2010 from PineBridge Investments (previously AIG Investments) and has overseen a continuous and significant growth in Mercer’s Irish investment fund range and the assets under management of these funds. Mercer’s Irish offering incorporates both UCITS and AIF structures with a range of traditional and innovative strategies employed across sub-funds in several umbrellas. As a direct result of the wide range of investment funds in Mercer’s Irish range, Boyd regularly deals with a broad array of legal, regulatory and compliance queries on a daily basis. She regularly consults with various stakeholders in Mercer’s business to ensure all teams are aware of the impact of upcoming regulatory developments and to examine the feasibility of proposed changes to existing fund structures. During her time in Mercer a significant amount of regulatory change has been applied to the investment funds industry. Her valuable input and oversight of the implementation of these regulatory changes has ensured Mercer’s client offering continues to exceed expectations. More recently, Boyd has been heavily involved in ensuring Mercer’s Irish fund range continues to operate robustly pending the exit of the UK from the European Union. Andrea Boyd is directly responsible for Mercer’s in-house counsel team which continues to grow and has demonstrated an impressive retention rate under her supervision’.
