Viavi Solutions is a prominent global IT services and network management solutions company. It specialises in delivering new technology and network management methods to its customers. In Asia, the legal team is responsible for general commercial matters (sales and supply chain contracts), compliance regulatory oversight, employment (both contentious and non-contentious) and governance work for subsidiaries, acquisitions and post-acquisition integration work. Regina Chan is the senior director for Asia legal matters and the most senior legal counsel in the region, reporting to the general counsel of the global company based in the US. The team has managed several multi-million contracts in the region, including a major contract manufacturing agreement with a locally listed company in China well known for its technology in the manufacturing of optical imaging. While driving business growth, the team has kept up with training in Asia on code of business conduct and anti- corruption rules including the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. In-person training classes were held in various places in Asia in 2018, which was very well received by the global company with the Asian team being recognised as a leading team within the business.
