Jochen Lederhilger is global director of legal affairs for Puma – one of the world’s most recognisable sportswear brands – and is a legal professional that has risen to this prestigious role by virtue of dispensing well-rounded, considered and business-focused legal advice throughout his career. In producing new product ranges and clothing lines, Puma regularly partners with other brands and labels in the fashion world, requiring a large amount of knowledge not only surrounding the legal and compliance aspects to these deals but the ability to ensure they are completed speedily. Sponsorship and other licencing agreements are an important part of Lederhilger’s work; Puma currently have deals to provide kit and sponsorship to several high profile names across Europe including Borussia Dortmund, the second largest sports club by membership in Germany. In his current role Lederhilger has both legal and compliance staff reporting into him, and has complete oversight of Puma’s legal risk profile.
