Marion Legrix de la Salle is a 47 individual passionate about law, economics, technology and innovation.

Her current role is a real treat: she is the Head of Legal, Compliance and Public Affairs of Samsung Electronics France.

How did she get there?

Her first career as an antitrust lawyer in the Paris Office of an American law firm (Latham & Watkins, 2004-2009) gave her a life passion for observing and studying the competitive functioning of markets and especially multi-sided platforms.

She then went in house to work for a leading French telco operator for a three-year experience during a turn point in the French telecom market. The economics and regulations in the telecom industry opened a fascinating window.

She joined Samsung 13 years ago and embarked on a wild and transformative journey both on the product, business, legal and regulatory environments.

She is doing her utmost best to make the legal, compliance and public affairs department a growth engine to support Samsung’s mission: devoting its talent and technology to creating superior products and services that contribute to a better global society.

She is devoted to inspire a growth mindset combined with a curious, ‘can do’, cheerful, and learner attitude.

One of her mentors kept encouraging her to develop new skills and explore new areas by repeating that “a good lawyer is a good lawyer everywhere”.

What this means is that a strong legal backbone and a curious mind are the fuel of a legal career. This has proved to be one of her best professional mottos: she started as an antitrust lawyer, moved in house to telecom, then to tech, expanding her roles and responsibility from antitrust and compliance to legal and public affairs and a full world of business and regulatory ventures.

Many sectors, companies, business challenges and legal areas did not exist at the time she started law.

The challenge around AI, cyber, data protection is increasing every day in a highly unpredictable and changing business and economic environment – and as they say in Hollywood, you are only as good as your last show.

One of the biggest perks of the job is that her role and responsibilities are on a constant moving page and that she is learning every day with awesome colleagues!
