Legal and regulatory affairs director | ISA Energía Chile
Career Biography
Pedro Pablo is an attorney with more than a decade of experience in energy law, natural resources, and regulation. He leads the legal and regulatory team of ISA Energía Chile, five attorneys and two civil engineers specializing in electricity regulation—responsible for the legal and regulatory strategies governing the 2x500kV Cardones–Polpaico line, the longest high-voltage transmission line currently in operation in Chile, encompassing its award, financing, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance.
He has led ISA’s dispute against the Republic of Chile before ICSID, which was resolved favorably for the company, although it remains pending due to appeals filed by the State. He also coordinates the corporate defense against environmental and operational sanction contingencies and manages a significant number of local and international law firms assisting the company with litigation and project financing matters.
His role also has a preventive component: he works alongside the leaders of the company’s various macro-processes and his team to anticipate risks in new business ventures and existing operations, with a focus on asset management and cost, risk, and performance analysis.
