Todd Crider is co-head of Simpson Thacher’s Latin American practice and was the founder of the firm’s office in São Paulo. A frequent speaker on capital markets, private equity and emerging markets, in the last year alone, Crider has co-chaired and spoken at several regional and international conferences focused on Latin America. In addition, Crider is a leader in pro bono activities: he recently assisted The Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice (of which he was the founding chair) in the establishment of The Lawyers Council for Civil and Economic Rights in the Americas and spoke at the 2018 Conference for Pro Bono Practice in the Americas in Mexico City. His work in Mexico covers a number of clients, sectors and practice areas. In 2017, he led the team representing OHL Concesiones in its joint tender-offer (launched together with IFM Global Infrastructure Fund), through Magenta Infraestructura, to acquire up to 100% of the outstanding publicly held shares of OHL México. He previously led on Simpson Thacher’s representation of OHL Concesiones in the 2014 secondary offering of a 7.5% stake in its Mexican subsidiary, OHL México, one of the principal transport-infrastructure concession operators in the private sector in Mexico. In 2014, he represented Concesionaria Mexiquense (Conmex), a wholly-owned subsidiary of OHL México and concessionaire of the Mexico City Beltway, in its $1.4bn debt refinancing. Crider is admitted to practice law in New York and Connecticut and authorised as a foreign legal consultant by the São Paulo Bar Association (Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil – São Paulo).
