Career biography

Nicola Verdicchio is Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Pirelli, a position he has held since 2014. He leads the Group’s global legal, corporate affairs and intellectual property functions, supporting the governance and strategic development of one of the world’s leading tyre manufacturers.

Over the course of his tenure, he has played a pivotal role in some of Pirelli’s most significant transformational initiatives, including complex cross-border M&A transactions, international strategic partnerships, corporate reorganizations and governance projects across multiple jurisdictions. He was instrumental in the separation and reorganization of the Group’s consumer and industrial businesses, overseeing the legal structuring and allocation of key tangible and intangible assets. He has also led numerous initiatives supporting Pirelli’s international growth strategy, including major industrial investments and joint ventures, such as the development of a tyre manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia.

Widely recognized for combining legal expertise with business acumen, Verdicchio acts as a strategic adviser to senior management and the Board on matters ranging from international corporate governance and strategic transactions to intellectual property and dispute resolution. His leadership has been central to safeguarding and enhancing the value of Pirelli’s global brand portfolio and supporting the Group’s expansion in increasingly complex international markets.

Prior to joining Pirelli, he held a number of senior business legal leadership positions within Telecom Italia Group, where he was responsible for international legal affairs, domestic and cross-border M&A activities, and international business development. Earlier in his career, he served in several legal and corporate affairs roles within STET and was appointed Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs of STET International, managing legal support for the group’s international operations and investments.
