Career biography and key achievements

After graduating in Law from the University of Pisa, I began my career in private practice, where I spent ten years developing a broad expertise across the full spectrum of civil law, with a particular focus on intellectual property. This early experience provided me with a solid legal foundation and taught me the importance of delivering practical, business-focused advice while managing complex legal matters.

I then joined Confindustria Moda, where I spent fifteen years working alongside companies in Italy’s fashion and textile industry. This role allowed me to gain an in-depth understanding of the sector and to become a trusted adviser to businesses navigating an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. I was actively involved in advocacy and public affairs, representing the interests of the industry before Italian and European institutions and contributing to policy discussions on legislation affecting the competitiveness and sustainable development of the fashion sector. This experience strengthened my ability to connect legal expertise with strategic business objectives and institutional engagement.

The defining challenge of my career came when I joined a leading luxury company to establish its legal department from the ground up. At the time, no in-house legal function existed. Building the department required not only legal expertise but also vision, determination and the ability to earn the trust of colleagues across the organisation. I designed and implemented the company’s legal framework, creating processes, governance standards and compliance programmes that embedded legal risk management into everyday business operations.

Working closely with every department — from product development, operations and sourcing to commercial, retail, marketing, human resources, finance and executive leadership — I helped transform the legal function into a strategic business partner. By introducing robust contractual processes, strengthening compliance, improving governance and fostering a culture of risk awareness, I contributed to protecting the company’s assets, supporting innovation and enabling sustainable growth in an increasingly demanding global environment.

Today, I lead a team of three legal professionals and continue to drive the evolution of the legal function as a value creator rather than simply a control function. Throughout my career, I have embraced opportunities to build, innovate and lead change, whether supporting an entire industry through institutional advocacy or creating a legal department that has become an integral part of a global luxury business.

What has consistently motivated me is the belief that legal expertise can be a powerful driver of business success when combined with strategic thinking, collaboration and a deep understanding of organisational needs. My professional journey reflects a commitment to excellence, innovation and responsible leadership, as well as a passion for helping businesses grow while operating with integrity, resilience and respect for the highest legal and ethical standards.

Beyond my corporate responsibilities, I serve as President of the ASINO Foundation for Oncological Neurosurgery ETS, a non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing research and education in neurosurgical oncology by funding research projects and supporting the training of the next generation of neurosurgeons. In this role, I work with an outstanding board of professionals to promote responsible governance, strengthen partnerships with institutions and companies, and help create opportunities that generate a lasting social impact. This experience further reflects my belief that leadership extends beyond business, combining professional expertise with a commitment to serving the wider community.
