Career Biography
Pilar Carnicero is senior counsel at Ferrovial Airports and is currently seconded to the New Terminal One at JFK International Airport in New York— a US$9.5 bn. terminal and one of the most significant airport development projects in the U.S.
In this role, she advises the company on commercial and operational matters at the intersection of construction delivery and airport operations, with a particular focus on getting the terminal ready for opening. Her work includes leading the preparation and negotiation of airline use arrangements, operations-related agreements, and other core contracts that underpin day-one functionality and revenue generation, while supporting cross-functional stakeholders on operational and commercial readiness planning. Before her move to New York, Pilar supported strategic transactions and governance matters across the Ferrovial Airports’ portfolio.
Prior to joining Ferrovial, Pilar spent eight years at Linklaters in Madrid as a managing associate in the Corporate/M&A team, advising Spanish and international clients on cross-border acquisitions and divestments, joint ventures, private equity investments and group reorganisations across sectors including infrastructure, energy, healthcare, automotive, financial services and industrials.
