Career Biography

Cristian is a qualified lawyer from the Universidad Privada del Norte (UPN) –

Cajamarca, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Political Science.

He holds a Master’s degree in Mining Law and Extractive Industries and a

Postgraduate Diploma in Mining and Environmental Law from the Universidad

Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC). He also holds an International Diploma

in Environmental Management from Universidad ESAN and the Universidad

Regional Autónoma de los Andes (UNIANDES). He further complemented his

education with the Harvard Business Summer Seminar at Harvard University.

Cristian stands out for his negotiation skills, effective communication, and

strategic management of institutional relationships, as well as his ability to

resolve conflicts and make decisions. He has strong expertise in compliance

with environmental regulations and permitting within the mining and

hydrocarbons sectors, with extensive experience representing administrative

sanctioning procedures in the energy and mining sector, environmental

offences, and coordination with State entities.

As Corporate and Legal Director at Silver Mountain Resources / Sociedad

Minera Reliquias S.A.C., he leads a team of nine professionals within the legal

department and other professionals involved in the management of the

company’s corporate and regulatory affairs. He also directly advises Senior

Management on strategic decision-making, designing the regulatory and

labour strategy to ensure the continuity of mining operations. During his

tenure, he has successfully implemented corporate labour policies and led the

reorganisation of the human resources department.

In his current position at Silver Mountain Resources / Sociedad Minera

Reliquias S.A.C., he designed the social management policy aimed at

achieving social sustainability and compliance with commitments to

communities; implemented two permanent social service centres known as

“Casa Reliquias”; implemented corporate labour policies during the first two

months of his tenure; and redesigned the human resources department,

strengthening the organisational structure and the company’s internal

processes.

Previously, he served as Corporate and Regulatory Legal Manager at Silver

Mountain Resources, where he led the social management, environmental,

regulatory, and legal areas. During his tenure, he secured three key

environmental permits for operations in less than ten months; led community

negotiations that enabled the execution of a usufruct agreement for surface

land for mining purposes for a period of 20 years; and contributed to the

reduction of administrative contingencies by approximately five million soles.
