Career Biography

Liam is General Counsel at Citation Group, one of the UK’s leading providers of compliance platforms for SMEs, combining smart software with expert professional support. Backed by private equity, the Group supports over 120,000 clients across the UK, Canada and Australia, delivering integrated solutions spanning HR, health and safety, cybersecurity, e-learning, ISO certification and SaaS-based products.

Liam joined the business in 2024 as its first in-house legal hire, establishing the legal function from the ground up and laying the foundations for a team designed to scale alongside a high-growth, acquisitive business. He advises across a broad remit including commercial, M&A and post-acquisition integration, data protection and privacy, intellectual property strategy, and employment matters. In addition to his legal responsibilities, Liam acts as a strategic partner to senior leadership, supporting new market entry, product development and the Group’s AI programme.

Prior to joining Citation, Liam held roles at Boohoo Group Plc, where he progressed from Legal Counsel to Senior Legal Counsel, advising across the full commercial spectrum, including supply chain, technology and licensing, marketing, data protection, international expansion and litigation management. He began his career in private practice at Brabners, specialising in commercial dispute resolution.
