Career Biography

Mia is a strategic leader in the nuclear legal sector, whose career spans over 15 years dealing with highly complex litigation, significant operations experience and as senior legal counsel in one of the UK’s most complex, highly unionised and heavily regulated industries.  She was recognised as a rising in house Counsel as far back as 2014 and has since built on this capability as a senior leader. 

Appointed as Head of Dispute Resolution in April 2024, Mia brings a rare combination of legal expertise and senior operations experience. Prior to this appointment she completed an 18-month secondment as Chief of Staff to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), a non-legal role overseeing all aspects of the COO’s operations.  The role exposed her to the running of a safety critical business spanning finance, corporate governance, risk management, commercial contracts, regulatory risk, assurance and performance, and high hazard risk reduction. That experience has contributed to her becoming a more commercially astute, strategically effective, and operationally credible legal leader with a delivery focus. 

 
Recognised as a leading expert in all aspects of employment law, with a particular expertise in whistleblowing and litigation matters, she manages the most complex, multi-stakeholder disputes, consistently securing the best possible outcomes. Mia has advised on a number of high profile collective legal actions securing positive outcomes for the organisation. Mia also advised on many high profile strategic legal projects including large scale change programmes such as the introduction of a new set of terms and conditions and employee handbooks.
