Career Biography

Rob Roskin is Vice President and Legal Counsel to Corporate Real Estate Services (CRES) at Barclays, advising on the legal, commercial and risk aspects of the Bank’s global real estate and construction activities. He plays a key role in supporting Barclays’ long‑term location, workplace and asset strategy across a complex, international property portfolio. Rob also supports the Commercial, Innovation and Technology team in a leadership capacity and advises on complex and strategic supply arrangements and M&A activity.

Rob advises on a broad range of high‑value and strategically significant matters, including real estate acquisitions and disposals, major development and refurbishment projects, construction and engineering contracts, managed service and supplier arrangements, and property‑related disputes and incidents. He is trusted by senior stakeholders across real estate, operations and risk, finance as well as commercial and technology teams to provide clear, pragmatic advice that enables commercial objectives while effectively managing risk.

With extensive experience across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America, Rob regularly leads on complex, multi‑jurisdictional matters. His work has included advising on the real estate elements of significant corporate transactions and supporting large‑scale capital projects, as well as navigating high‑impact events such as supplier insolvencies to ensure continuity of operations.

A particular focus of Rob’s practice is the development of robust legal frameworks for global real estate and construction activity. He has led the creation and implementation of global precedent structures for contractor and consultant appointments, driving greater consistency, efficiency and risk management across jurisdictions. He is also actively involved in strengthening collaboration between internal stakeholders and external advisers through targeted workshops and training.

Before joining Barclays, Rob trained and qualified in private practice at leading UK law firms including Addleshaw Goddard and Charles Russell Speechlys, where he advised institutional investors, developers and corporate occupiers on complex commercial property transactions and development projects.
