Career Biography
I am a corporate lawyer leading the legal and compliance functions as Head of Legal and Compliance for Prosegur Ecuador, the largest security and cash transportation company in Ecuador and part of Prosegur, a global leader in private security and cash management services with operations in more than thirty countries and a workforce exceeding one hundred thousand professionals worldwide. In this capacity, I also act as local legal representative of the company’s sole shareholder and President of the Ethics Committee, assuming primary responsibility for regulatory compliance within a sector subject to rigorous governmental oversight and heightened institutional scrutiny.
As principal legal adviser in Ecuador, I oversee the structuring, negotiation, and execution of complex and high impact contractual frameworks involving financial institutions, public entities, multinational corporations, and international clients operating in regulated markets. My work has included strategic contractual engagement with the Central Bank of Ecuador and ongoing legal interaction with supervisory authorities such as the Superintendence of Banks and the Superintendence of Popular and Solidarity Economy. I regularly advise senior management on significant matters where regulatory exposure, operational continuity, financial integrity, and reputational considerations converge.
Alongside my leadership responsibilities, I design, implement, and supervise the company’s compliance architecture, including anti-money laundering controls, data protection governance, regulatory risk management systems, and internal ethics oversight. Continuous engagement with supervisory and regulatory authorities ensures that the organisation anticipates regulatory developments and maintains a resilient compliance posture within an evolving legal environment.
A defining element of my professional practice is active participation in regulatory dialogue before competent public authorities with rule-making capacity within Ecuador’s private security framework. I recurrently take part in technical working groups and formal discussions in which draft regulations governing surveillance and private security activities are analysed prior to issuance. Through these engagements, I contribute legal analysis aimed at ensuring that new regulatory standards are coherent, proportionate, and aligned with responsible investment structures, including matters relating to foreign capital participation in security companies.
Throughout my career, I have developed experience across multiple regulated sectors, including financial services, private security, funeral services, real estate operations, technology, and health related activities. This exposure has broadened my perspective on diverse regulatory environments and reinforced my ability to navigate legal and compliance matters in industries subject to evolving oversight and institutional complexity.
As President of the Ethics Committee, I promote transparency, accountability, and principled decision making across operational and administrative structures, embedding compliance and governance standards into daily corporate practice.
I approach my responsibilities with the conviction that legal and compliance functions must operate as strategic pillars of institutional resilience, aligning regulatory integrity with sustainable growth and safeguarding long term corporate value
