For several years now, artificial intelligence has been taken very seriously as a potentially revolutionary technological change in the legal world. Has it had a significant impact on the way your legal team works during this time?
AI has had a significant impact on the way we lawyers perform our work. It in no way replaces legal judgement, which has been formed through vast experience, but it has profoundly transformed the processes, timing and approach to legal work. In our team, we have incorporated technological tools for analysing and organising information, reviewing documents and supporting legal research. I believe that the real impact of AI is to raise the standard of professional practice by requiring us to think more critically without neglecting ethical challenges and data protection.
Looking forward, what trends do you foresee in the legal landscape over the next 5–10 years that companies should prepare for?
As a result, corporate responsibility will become increasingly demanding, and in-house lawyers must strengthen comprehensive risk management and corporate ethics to adapt to becoming more strategic in risk management. It is essential to consolidate interdisciplinary legal teams with solid technological skills to effectively address the challenges posed by digital transformation.
