Career Biography

Dr. Andreas Liepe was appointed as the Group General Counsel of BMW in 2019 and has since then been responsible for legal, patents and group compliance. Previously, he held leadership positions within the legal department of BMW Group in Germany and China. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd, a BMW controlled joint venture producing and distributing BMW vehicles in China. Before joining BMW Group in 2005, Dr. Liepe worked in a major international law firm in the field of corporate and M&A. He studied at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, received his doctorate from the Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena and a Master of Law degree (LLM) from the University of Texas at Austin.
