Career Biography

Isabel Aragon Molinos is an accomplished international in-house counsel, qualified Spanish lawyer, and competition law expert, currently based in Brussels, Belgium, bringing over two decades of legal expertise to the multinational industrial sector.

Isabel’s career spans leadership roles at world-renowned companies including International Paper, General Electric, Suez, and now Veolia, demonstrating deep expertise in complex corporate and business matters across diverse industrial environments and multiple jurisdictions within Europe and worldwide. Previously held European General Counsel roles at different corporations, Isabel recently served as Europe General Counsel for Veolia Water Technologies and Solutions, providing strategic legal leadership across the region.

Currently, she holds the global position of General Counsel for Veolia Water Technologies Chemical Solutions business. A global role encompassing legal oversight of worldwide operations, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, competition law matters, and strategic business partnerships across all markets. Isabel has a proven track record in leading and executing complex M&A transactions, including due diligence, deal structuring, negotiations, and post-merger integration across multiple jurisdictions and substantial expertise in environmental law matters as well as litigation and dispute resolution.

A firm believer that in-house counsel must be a business partner and an essential part of the management team. The role extends far beyond traditional legal advisory functions since effective counselling requires a deep understanding of the corporate’s strategic objectives and as well as industry challenges, including evolving regulatory landscapes, sector-specific compliance requirements, competitive dynamics and antitrust considerations, and emerging legal risks.
