What are your thoughts on managing a legal team through difficult situations?

Crisis isn’t something to survive; it’s a chance to turn turbulence into momentum. Smart legal strategy does more than manage risk—it unlocks opportunity, drives adaptation, and hard-wires agility into the organisation.

The key is trust—between legal, leadership, and business. With trust, legal stops being a brake and becomes an engine, aligned with strategy while safeguarding integrity.

That means a legal function that is proactive, flexible, and innovation-ready, so the organisation doesn’t just react to instability but seizes the upside of change.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

AI, blockchain, and data analytics are no longer buzzwords—they’re rewriting how the legal profession works. AI is already reshaping research, contracts, and compliance; blockchain promises trust and automation through smart contracts; and data analytics unlocks predictive insights that make legal strategy sharper and faster.

I stay ahead by treating tech as part of the job description: scanning industry reports, engaging in cross-sector forums, and learning directly from technologists as much as from lawyers. At Salt Bank, I’ve seen first-hand that transformation isn’t just about tools—it’s about people. The real differentiator is how quickly we learn, adapt, and apply technology responsibly.

For me, the endgame is clear: let machines handle the routine so Legal can double down on what matters—judgment, integrity, and the human side of law. That’s where resilience and real impact, happen.

Which law firms are you regularly instructing?

Our legal model is built primarily on the strength of our in-house team—highly skilled professionals with solid expertise in our core areas of activity. This allows us to manage most matters directly, ensuring speed, alignment, and consistency.

When specialist knowledge or additional capacity is required, we engage external counsel selectively, based on their expertise rather than on a standing roster. Recently, for example, we have collaborated with CEE Attorneys (Boanță, Gidei și Asociații SCP), Filip & Company, Dragne & Asociații, and Vernon | David & Associates, all extraordinay counsels I would love to work with again, anytime.

Which legal tech organisations or products are helping you in your role?

Like the rest of our bank, our legal team blends everyday office technology with cutting-edge digital solutions —from secure e-signature and document management platforms to collaboration tools for project tracking and the AI capabilities of Microsoft Copilot and Adobe Acrobat.

On the legal-tech side, we are actively exploring AI-driven research tools such as JAI (from Juridice.ro), along with Romanian solutions like LexForce, Sintact, and Eurolex, which show strong potential to boost both efficiency and insight.

We approach legal tech with curiosity and openness, constantly scanning the market for innovations that help us work smarter, stay agile, and deliver greater value to the business.”
