How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of change and transition?
One of the most relevant experiences in the last year has been supporting the global separation of Baxter’s renal care business and the creation of Vantive as an independent company. I worked as part of the legal team responsible for ensuring the transition across Latin America, helping define the operating model, entity structure, and core contracting needed to continue delivering products and services without interruption.
This experience reinforced the importance of early risk assessment and close alignment between legal and business teams to ensure change is executed responsibly but without losing momentum.
How do you ensure compliance with competition law, and why is it a key focus area for you?
Antitrust and competition law have been a consistent thread in my career and an area of real personal interest. I have supported responses to regulatory inquiries and contributed to the development and implementation of internal policies and training to help commercial teams operate confidently and within the boundaries of competition law.
I consider this area a core strength, not only from a compliance standpoint but as a tool to build healthy commercial practices and long-term business resilience.
How do you support innovation and commercial strategy within your organisation?
In parallel, I have had the opportunity to support the introduction of digital solutions in the healthcare space, including products that interact with sensitive patient data. My role has been to help define responsible go-to-market pathways—balancing privacy, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
On legal operations, my focus has been on practical improvements: simplifying contracting, adopting digital signature workflows, and improving document visibility. Rather than relying on technology for its own sake, I aim to introduce solutions when they clearly free up time and help the business move faster with lower risk.
Recent focus areas
– Legal support for the spin-off across Latin America, including regulatory, contracting, and governance components.
– Development and implementation of competition law policies and training efforts across commercial functions in the region.
– Support for market access and commercialisation strategies involving digital and data-driven health solutions.
I see my role as helping the business take informed decisions and move forward with confidence, balancing legal safeguards with practical execution.
