How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

In times of crisis or legal uncertainty, I focus on building legal strategies that are both defensible and business-enabling. At Uber Mexico, I’ve had to lead through high-pressure situations, where the key was aligning legal decisions tightly with operational priorities. My approach centers on risk anticipation, cross-functional collaboration, and rapid response with legal clarity.

Rather than taking purely reactive stances, as a legal department, we advocate for proactive litigation – when necessary – to preserve Uber’s ability to operate and grow. At the same time, we emphasise diplomacy and regulatory engagement to keep Uber positioned as a constructive player. This dual approach has helped us secure key injunctions to protect our services, negotiate complex compliance strategies, and continue launching new products, even under uncertain legal frameworks.

Ultimately, I see Legal as a strategic partner, not just a safeguard, and ensure our work enables the business to remain resilient, innovative, and forward-looking.

What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?

Uber Eats and Edenred announced a partnership enabling users to pay for their orders using premium food and restaurant vouchers directly through the app.

Uber Eats launched a restaurant financing program with R2, “Financiamiento Uber Eats” in collaboration with fintech R2 to provide fast and flexible credit solutions to restaurants registered on the platform.

7-Eleven partnered with Uber Eats to add over 700 stores to the platform, supporting its omnichannel strategy.

I have also been assisting with product expansion and regulatory compliance related to Moto, Taxi, and airport operations, across a complex and evolving regulatory environment.

I am advising on Mexico’s Football League (FMF) and Liga MX and the Uber Eats – Oxxo Alliance.
