Career biography

Dr. Tadas Zukas is the Global Lead Senior Legal Counsel for Sustainability at Vontobel in Zurich. In this pioneering role, he covers the full range of Group-level sustainable finance topics.

An influential voice in the Swiss and European sustainable finance market, Dr. Zukas is a member of the Swiss Bankers Association Working Group on Sustainable Finance, which has been instrumental in developing the Swiss ESG self-regulation.

A published author and a recognized expert, Dr. Zukas regularly speaks on sustainable finance topics at industry events, universities, and also teaches in the executive sustainable finance education program at the University of Zurich. His work and expertise have been featured on the pages of the New York-based “Pensions & Investments” magazine, in the Green Hub Sustainable Conversations series of “Legal 500” as well as in the leading Swiss and German business papers. His new book on European Sustainable Finance Regulation (Dike, 2024) has received wide acclaim.

He holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Lucerne, an LL.M. and an executive CAS Sustainable Finance degree from the University of Zurich.

Dr. Zukas is also a Fellow at Switzerland’s renowned Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth at the University of Zurich – a honorary appointment the Center extends to prominent practitioners.
