What factors influence your team’s decision to use external legal services versus handling matters in-house, and what criteria are used to evaluate their performance?

KPC Legal Affairs Department strives to handle maximum possible legal work in-house. However, external legal service providers are engaged for handling dispute resolution matters, as well as for preparing initial drafts of the transaction documents.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

I believe that AI will have the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future. I stay updated with the new emerging technologies impacting legal profession by regularly attending online CLE courses offered by American Bar Association and Ohio State Bar Association, respectively – of which I am a member.

How does your team contribute to the overall business strategy of the company? Can you share an example of a recent legal-led initiative that had a significant impact?

Head of Legal Affairs and KPC Legal Affairs team works very closely with KPC’s CEO and KPC’s top management, in matters which impact the overall business strategy of KPC.
