Having worked in the legal field for over 30 years, I’ve learned that resilience is not just about reacting to challenges—it’s about anticipating them with clarity and calm. During times of instability, I strive to position the legal function as a quiet but steady force, supporting the business with foresight, flexibility, and empathy. My strategy is always closely aligned with the company’s values and long-term vision. I believe legal guidance should not only protect but also empower—helping teams navigate uncertainty with confidence and integrity.

What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?

Confidentiality is a cornerstone of my role, so I cannot share specific details. However, I can say that my work has spanned a wide range of strategic areas, always in close collaboration with cross-functional teams. I take pride in being deeply embedded in the business—listening, advising, and shaping outcomes that reflect both legal soundness and creative ambition.

In the past year, I’ve led several key initiatives.I’ve managed a wide range of complex IP matters, from clearance and brand enforcement to licensing, co-branding, and ambassadorship agreements. These projects often require a delicate balance between legal rigor and creative freedom—something I’ve come to appreciate deeply in the fashion world. I’ve supported the structuring and negotiation of cross-border partnerships, ensuring that legal frameworks are robust yet adaptable to diverse cultural and commercial contexts. I’ve overseen lease negotiations across multiple jurisdictions, aligning legal requirements with operational needs and brand strategy. I’ve provided legal support on strategic insourcing initiatives and key aspects of industrial operations and supply chain management. My focus has been on aligning legal strategy with business objectives—ensuring operational efficiency, contractual robustness, and compliance across complex, cross-functional frameworks.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

Technology is reshaping the legal profession in subtle but profound ways. I see artificial intelligence, data analytics, and digital contract management tools as particularly transformative. These innovations offer efficiency, but they also challenge us to rethink how we interpret, negotiate, and safeguard legal principles. I stay informed through a mix of professional networks, legal publications, and—most importantly—dialogue with younger colleagues and external experts. Their fresh perspectives often inspire me to remain curious and open to change, even after three decades of legal practice.

How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment?

Diversity and inclusion are not just policies—they are values I’ve carried with me throughout my career. During my professional growth, I’ve felt a quiet but steady responsibility to ensure that different perspectives are not only welcomed but truly heard. Within my team, I encourage open dialogue, mentorship, and a culture of transparency and mutual respect. I’ve worked to build an environment where flexibility is embraced, inclusivity is intentional, and every voice—regardless of background, experience, or role—is valued. I believe that diversity is not only a matter of fairness but a source of strength and creativity. It brings richness to our thinking and resilience to our decisions.
