In a regulated and sensitive sector such as hydrocarbons in Bolivia, political, economic, or social instability can have a direct impact on operations. Legal crisis management it is coordinated with communication, human resources, operations, and sustainability. This cross-functional approach enables the legal department to act not only as a regulatory shield but also as a strategic driver of resilience, ensuring that legal actions translate into comprehensive, coherent responses aligned with the law and the company’s values.

What are the main cases or transactions that you have been involved in recently?

In recent months, we have supported key processes such as the conformation of gas transportation contracts and the structuring of contractual alternatives to enable upstream projects, joint operation agreements, and regulatory interactions stemming from our transportation-compression activities.

What measures has your company taken to embed sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of the general counsel/in house counsel teams contribute to driving and ensuring sustainable practices within the company?

Operational sustainability encompasses not only environmental aspects but also social and governance dimensions. It is reflected in instruments such as environmental impact assessments, environmental management plans, prior consultations with communities, and corporate social responsibility policies that reinforce the company’s commitment to sustainability. The legal department not only supports these processes but also shapes and promotes informed, transparent, and well-documented decision-making, serving as a bridge between operational sustainability and regulatory compliance.

How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment? ?

Diversity is not a challenge in our company, and the legal department is no exception. It is composed of a distinguished team of male and female attorneys with high professional standards across various specialties. Moreover, we have actively promoted the inclusion of young professionals and female lawyers who contribute meaningfully to legal management.
