How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience??

In times of instability or crisis, our approach is centered around maintaining robust connections across various dimensions. We ensure alignment with the social, economic, and political landscapes to remain well-informed. Internally, we foster strong relationships with stakeholders to accurately interpret the business environment, positioning ourselves as integral legal business partners. This requires a deep understanding of the business, allowing us to pivot effectively as legal advisors.

As a corporation, we emphasise the importance of being part of a broader region. Engaging in discussions with colleagues beyond Bolivia strengthens our decision-making process, allowing us to draw on diverse perspectives and regional insights.

To achieve genuine engagement and connection, it is imperative to have a well-informed team that embodies the role of legal and compliance guardians. During challenging periods, our team faces multiple urgent issues, necessitating a strategic approach to prioritisation. Accountability and execution are our guiding principles, ensuring that we remain steadfast partners to our internal clients and stakeholders.

As a leader, fostering resilience involves being closely connected with our teams, providing support, and ensuring they feel heard. Recognising the collective efforts of the team is crucial in cultivating a resilient organisational culture.

?

What are the main cases or transactions that you have been involved in recently??

Additionally, we have been tasked with exploring innovative legal strategies to sustain business operations amidst challenging scenarios. This includes providing legal support for the transition and adaptation to new models for Route To market contracts, ensuring that our business remains resilient and compliant with evolving market demands.

What role does the legal department play in promoting and ensuring corporate social responsibility in your organisation??

In Bolivia, the legal team plays a vital role in promoting and ensuring corporate social responsibility (CSR) within the organisation. It does so by aligning legal strategies with the company’s sustainability goals and business values. The department actively engages in shaping legal and policy developments to support Nestlé’s interests in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. Furthermore, it contributes to building strategic alliances, designing compliance standards, and developing risk management tools. These efforts ensure that Nestlé not only complies with evolving legal landscapes but also proactively contributes to sustainable business practices.
