How do you approach the management of legal matters during periods of instability or crisis, and how does your legal strategy align with the business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
In times of instability, my legal approach rests on three fundamental pillars: anticipation, communication, and adaptability.

Anticipation involves identifying potential legal risks before they materialise. We achieve this through regulatory analysis and scenario planning, supported by tools such as our Legal Compliance Matrix.

Effective communication with strategic departments ensures the legal function is not merely reactive but actively contributes to decision-making processes at the highest level.

Adaptability, meanwhile, is essential for responding swiftly and effectively to changing external conditions—allowing us to remain agile without compromising compliance or ethical standards. By aligning legal strategies with broader business objectives, we help ensure long-term organisational resilience.

What measures has your company taken to incorporate sustainability practices into its core operations, and how does the legal department contribute to driving and ensuring these practices?
Sustainability has become a central pillar of our corporate strategy. Within the legal and compliance function, we have played an active role in embedding these principles into the company’s daily operations.

We are proud to collaborate closely with the United Nations Global Compact, where we currently lead the Governance Working Group. In addition, we are involved in a collective action initiative at the national level in Bolivia, aimed at encouraging Bolivian companies to join the movement towards ethical and sustainable business practices.

Our role as legal professionals is not limited to regulatory oversight—we also serve as ambassadors for ethical and environmental commitments. By helping to build and promote a culture of compliance, we reinforce the organisation’s long-term sustainability and integrity.
