How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

During times of instability, I focus on a proactive and business-integrated legal strategy. At inDrive, for example, we implemented the Business Assurance Project, aimed at creating global compliance mechanisms and risk mitigation plans, ensuring alignment with the company’s operational objectives and local realities. This was key for the business, as we faced several crises in the Latam region regarding our business model and the regulatory panorama, but our ideas allowed the company to keep functioning and even open new businesses. Strategic focus, a winning mentality, and effective teamwork are my main tools during periods of instability. I believe legal departments must not only react to crises but anticipate them, which includes constant legal monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and providing clear, actionable advice to business units to support agile and resilient decision-making.

What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?

Recently, I led the legal structuring and licensing for inDrive’s ride-hailing and courier operations across several Latin American countries. One highlight was securing the legal framework for inDrive’s compliance with labour reforms in Colombia and Mexico—ensuring compliance in an evolving regulatory environment while maintaining alignment with our global model.

At adidas, I was responsible for key contracts and transactions with partners such as Mercado Libre, Falabella, and Kuehne + Nagel, and managed sports agreements with the National Football Federation and the most important local football clubs, exceeding $10 million USD. I secured the contract and transaction for the opening of the biggest adidas store in all of Latin America. I also successfully handled complex foreign trade litigation with the Colombian DIAN, involving amounts exceeding $3 million USD.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

AI-powered contract management, regulatory tech (RegTech), and data analytics tools are transforming how legal teams operate. At inDrive, I led the legal analysis for the use of AI by the Legal Business Partners team, creating useful prompts available worldwide and leveraging technology to reduce legal response times and improve risk analysis within our Business Assurance Project.

At adidas, I developed tech tools for compliance automation and adapted advanced contract management systems globally. I stay informed through continuous education (e.g., in Entertainment Law and Tech Law), industry publications, legal tech forums, and peer collaboration. Being part of global legal projects and working with innovation-driven teams also helps me identify applicable technologies and integrate them into legal operations.

How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment?

Diversity and inclusion are essential to building a resilient and forward-thinking legal culture. At inDrive, I have taken an active role in promoting these values beyond the legal function. I facilitated internal workshops on unconscious bias, aiming to foster awareness and a culture of inclusiveness across the organisation. These sessions helped team members recognise and address situations of exclusion or injustice and promoted respectful, equitable collaboration in day-to-day operations.

I’ve also supported inclusive legal communication practices across multicultural teams, particularly through my involvement in the Support4Support initiative, ensuring that colleagues in different regions are equally empowered with tools and legal clarity regardless of geography or seniority, and ensuring correct relationships with users regardless of culture, region, or age. By embedding inclusion into both legal strategy and team dynamics, I strive to create spaces where every professional feels respected, heard, and equipped to contribute meaningfully.
