What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?

One of the major initiatives I’ve been actively involved in recently is the implementation of the AI policy across our operations in Latin America. Recognising the growing importance of artificial intelligence in our industry, this policy focuses on ensuring ethical and compliant use of AI technologies, particularly when performing services for our clients. A key aspect of this initiative has been fostering awareness within the business about the care and responsibility required when leveraging AI. This includes navigating complex considerations such as data privacy, bias mitigation, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance, which are critical in maintaining trust and delivering value to our clients.

Through close collaboration with leadership, legal teams, and operational departments, I’ve worked to align the policy with both regional regulatory standards and our broader business strategy. This initiative has not only helped to safeguard the organisation but has also positioned us as a responsible and forward-thinking partner in the eyes of our clients and stakeholders.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is undoubtedly the emerging technology poised to have the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future. From streamlining contract analysis and legal research to enhancing compliance monitoring and predictive analytics, AI is transforming the way legal professionals approach their work. It is enabling greater efficiency and accuracy while creating new opportunities to address complex legal challenges.

To stay updated on these developments, I actively participate in legal discussions and forums organised by industry associations across Latin America. These platforms provide valuable insights into the practical implications of AI adoption in the legal field and offer a space to engage with peers and experts who are shaping the industry. Additionally, I closely follow proposed new laws and regulatory changes within the region that address the use and governance of AI, ensuring that my knowledge remains current and aligned with evolving legal frameworks.
