How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
Periods of instability require a proactive and calm legal approach. At Rockwool Legal & Compliance, we follow the principle that Legal & Compliance must serve as a strategic enabler – being a service provider for the entire business. During instability, as in our daily work, we prioritise using business acumen, strategy understanding, and our tight collaboration with the business units to ensure rapid but legally well-considered decision-making.
To act rapid when needed, the legal basis should already be well established.
Our legal strategy must be and is closely aligned with the group’s broader strategic goals and global operational continuity. We focus on building legal resilience that complements operational resilience – enabling the group to withstand and evolve also during times of disruption.
What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?
Recently, the Legal & Compliance team has assisted in several complex M&A transactions throughout the world, as well as several green and brown field factory establishments. Nevertheless, the largest achievement of the Group Legal & Compliance team as well as our local lawyers is the daily effort in ensuring continued smooth business operations cross the many relevant jurisdictions and legal fields of expertise.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?
AI and machine learning are already transforming how legal departments manage data, conduct risk assessments, and draft contracts. At Rockwool, we are exploring how to use these tools responsibly. Staying current means actively engaging with legal tech and regularly assessing new tools. However, it is essential to balance innovation with risk and ongoing the prioritisation of resources: new technologies must enhance our ability to serve the business, not complicate it.
