With over 20 years in leadership roles and the past decade spent as a C-Suite level executive, Louise Pentland brings a global understanding of business, leadership, innovation and culture to her role as PayPal’s chief business affairs and legal officer. Described by nominating sources as possessing ‘deep expertise and passion for transforming companies through change leadership, driving results, creating a culture of collaboration and innovation, and building high performing functions to the PayPal leadership team’, Pentland has had a major positive impact on PayPal’s legal apparatus since her first appointment with the online payment platform in 2015. Regarded as among the foremost general counsel in the world in the industry press and news media, her improvements have been wide-ranging, with her work focusing on the company’s PayPal’s financial, regulatory and legal requirements across all global markets. She is also responsible for PayPal’s “People” function, which leads and drives a number of personnel improvement initiatives, particularly in the area of leadership excellence, team culture, training and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
